1st MUSIC Summer School on "Multiscale and Multiphysics Modeling of Interfaces"
15-17 September 2010
The Graduate School MUSIC offers its first Summer School at the Leibniz University of Hannover from 15 to17 September 2010. This year's summer school on Multiscale and Multiphysics Modeling of Interfaces is hosted by the Institute of Continuum Mechanics.
Summer School 2010 will focus on the modeling of multiphysics phenomena associated with interfaces from a multiscale point of view. Theoretical and computational aspects of adhesion and cohesive fracture, thermomechanical contact and friction at macro and micro scales as well as shape memory effects governed by material interfaces will be addressed by distinguished researchers in these fields both from an engineering as well as a materials science point of view. Click here for further details on the contents of individual lectures.
The summer school is intended as a compact overview of the latest developments in the focus area for current and prospective Ph.D. students who work in relevant fields. Researchers and scientists from the industry who wish to extend their present research into this area are also welcome. Registration information can be found here.
